Information to discuss during consultation

If you have questions about skin firmness or mild laxity, start with a private consultation. You do not need to know which treatment to ask for.

Ultraformer III HIFU is a non-invasive ultrasound treatment intended to stimulate collagen production and address mild to moderate concerns about skin elasticity. It aims to tighten, firm and lift the areas treated, and may influence the appearance of facial lines.

The areas usually discussed are the full face, lower face, double chin, neck, eye area and smile lines, along with general skin rejuvenation.

Whether it may be appropriate for you is determined at consultation, where your goals, suitability, alternatives, potential risks, side effects, downtime, aftercare and realistic expectations are discussed. Individual results vary.

From consultation to aftercare.

Individual experiences, downtime and aftercare vary. Everything below is discussed with you before any treatment decision is made.

  1. Consultation

A private discussion of your aesthetic goals, with your questions answered and the available options explained. Your practitioner covers suitability, alternatives, potential risks, side effects, downtime, aftercare and realistic expectations for your individual needs.

  2. What to expect

The treatment takes approximately thirty to sixty minutes depending on the areas chosen. If you proceed and follow the required aftercare, side effects are likely to be mild — minor redness, swelling and tenderness at the treatment sites, generally subsiding after a period of time. Individual experiences vary.

  3. Aftercare

If you choose to undertake a treatment following the consultation, to minimise the downtime, please:

    • Avoid hot showers on the day of treatment
    • Wear SPF protection on the treated areas following treatment

Questions about Ultraformer III HIFU

Is the treatment painful?

In general, the treatment can be considered quite comfortable, with individual experiences varying. Individuals may experience some mild sensation as the device delivers heat to target deep into the skin layers.

How long does the treatment take?

Approximately thirty to sixty minutes, depending on which areas are being treated.

Is there much downtime?

Following the required aftercare can reduce the risk of downtime, which may range from a few hours to a few days depending on the individual. Side effects are likely to be mild — minor redness, swelling and tenderness at the treatment sites, generally subsiding after a period of time.

Is numbing cream provided?

No. We do not recommend applying numbing cream to the treatment areas, as a safety precaution — being able to feel the treatment is part of how it is delivered safely.

Can I exercise after?

Yes, depending on your skin's sensitivity following treatment.

When can I wear makeup?

Make-up can generally be worn after this treatment.

Which areas can be discussed?

The areas usually discussed are the full face, lower face, double chin, neck, eye area and smile lines, along with general skin rejuvenation. Suitability is determined at consultation.

Understanding the cost of treatment.

What treatment costs depends on your facial structure and anatomy, on the goals you are hoping to work toward, and on which treatments are involved in getting there. Two people asking for a similar outcome may need very different plans.

A consultation is the most reliable way to understand what your own treatment plan would involve and what it would cost. We will discuss your goals, talk through what may be suitable, and set out the cost of that specific plan — with no obligation to proceed.
