Eyebags & Dark Circles

Puffiness and shadowing under the eyes are common reasons people book a consultation with us. They can make a person look tired even when well rested, and they have more than one possible cause. If this is a concern for you, please book a consultation with our team.

What are eyebags and dark circles?

Eyebags are puffiness or fullness in the lower eyelid area. Dark circles are discolouration or shadowing beneath the eyes. They can occur together or separately, and each has different causes.

What causes them?

Genetics play a large role. Thin skin under the eyes can show underlying blood vessels, and natural changes with age can alter fat and volume in the area, creating shadows or puffiness. Allergies, sleep, fluid retention, pigmentation and sun exposure can also contribute.

Reasons people seek consultations

The under-eye area is one of the first places people notice change, and because the causes vary so much, it can be hard to know what is going on. A consultation helps work out what is behind it before any decision is made. Common reasons include:

  • Looking tired despite getting enough rest
  • Puffiness or hollowing under the eyes
  • Shadows or discolouration that concealer does not fully cover
  • Changes that have progressed over time
  • Wanting to understand the cause before deciding anything

How should you manage eyebags and dark circles?

Because the causes vary so much, the right approach is different for each person. The best first step is to book a consultation so we can work out what is behind it. Our consultations run for 45 minutes and are never rushed. During your consultation we can explain the different treatments that may be able to address your concern. Our team is made up of health professionals.

Four steps, start to finish.

You do not need to choose a treatment before you book. If you are unsure, choose “Book a consultation”.

  1. Book a consultation

There is no consultation fee. New client consultations run 45 minutes, so nothing is rushed and we can properly understand your goals.

  2. Pre-treatment care

If anything needs preparing beforehand, we send you clear instructions ahead of your appointment.

  3. Your treatment

Carried out by a member of our clinical team using TGA approved products, in a private clinical setting. It is often possible to proceed on the same day as your consultation, though some options need a separate booking — DM us to find out more.

  4. Post-treatment care

You leave with aftercare instructions, and our clinic is available for any questions that follow.
