Frown Wrinkles

Vertical lines between the eyebrows, often called “the elevens”, are common reasons people book a consultation with us. They form through repeated expressions such as concentrating, squinting or frowning, and can become more visible over time. If this is a concern for you, please book a consultation with our team.

What are frown wrinkles?

Frown wrinkles are the vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. They are sometimes called glabellar lines or “the elevens”. They are often most visible when frowning, but can remain visible when the face is relaxed.

What causes them?

They form through repeated movement of the muscles between the brows, along with the gradual loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin. Sun exposure, genetics and habitual expressions can all play a part, and many people are surprised to learn how much of it is simply how they naturally express themselves.

Reasons people seek consultations

Lines between the brows can change how a person's expression is read by others, which is often what prompts people to ask about them. A consultation is a chance to talk it through without any pressure to proceed. Common reasons include:

  • Looking tired, stern or concerned when feeling neither
  • Lines visible when the face is relaxed
  • Lines that feel more noticeable than they used to
  • Wanting to understand available options and what is realistic
  • Wanting advice on suitability before making any decision

How should you manage frown wrinkles?

Each person's expressions and skin are different, so the right approach varies from one person to the next. We recommend booking a consultation to talk it through. Our 45-minute consultations are unhurried, so you can ask as many questions as you need. During your consultation we can explain the different treatments that may be able to address frown lines. Our team is made up of health professionals who will help you understand your options.

Four steps, start to finish.

You do not need to choose a treatment before you book. If you are unsure, choose “Book a consultation”.

  1. Book a consultation

There is no consultation fee. New client consultations run 45 minutes, so nothing is rushed and we can properly understand your goals.

  2. Pre-treatment care

If anything needs preparing beforehand, we send you clear instructions ahead of your appointment.

  3. Your treatment

Carried out by a member of our clinical team using TGA approved products, in a private clinical setting. It is often possible to proceed on the same day as your consultation, though some options need a separate booking — DM us to find out more.

  4. Post-treatment care

You leave with aftercare instructions, and our clinic is available for any questions that follow.
