Enlarged Pores

Visible or enlarged pores, particularly on the nose and cheeks, are common reasons people book a consultation with us. Pores are a natural part of skin, and how visible they appear varies from person to person. If this is a concern for you, please book a consultation with our team.

What are enlarged pores?

Pores are the small openings in the skin through which oil is released. They are not able to open or close, but they can look larger depending on skin type, texture and condition.

What causes them to look larger?

Genetics and skin type are the biggest factors, especially oilier skin. Sun damage, loss of firmness around the pore opening, past acne, build-up of oil and dead skin cells, and ageing can all make pores appear more noticeable over time.

Reasons people seek consultations

Pores are often most noticeable up close, in good lighting or under makeup, which is when many people start looking for answers. A consultation helps identify what is behind it for your skin type. Common reasons include:

  • Pores that look larger on the nose, cheeks or forehead
  • Textured or uneven-looking skin
  • Makeup that emphasises pores
  • Pores that have become more noticeable with age
  • Wanting a clear understanding of what is realistic for their skin type

How should you manage enlarged pores?

Skin type and the reasons pores look larger differ from person to person, so the right approach depends on your skin. We recommend booking a consultation. Our consultations run for 45 minutes and are never rushed. During your consultation we can explain the different treatments that may be able to address enlarged pores. Our team is made up of health professionals who will help you understand what is realistic for your skin.

Four steps, start to finish.

You do not need to choose a treatment before you book. If you are unsure, choose “Book a consultation”.

  1. Book a consultation

There is no consultation fee. New client consultations run 45 minutes, so nothing is rushed and we can properly understand your goals.

  2. Pre-treatment care

If anything needs preparing beforehand, we send you clear instructions ahead of your appointment.

  3. Your treatment

Carried out by a member of our clinical team using TGA approved products, in a private clinical setting. It is often possible to proceed on the same day as your consultation, though some options need a separate booking — DM us to find out more.

  4. Post-treatment care

You leave with aftercare instructions, and our clinic is available for any questions that follow.
