Slimming & Fat Reduction

Areas of fullness in the lower face, cheeks or jawline are common reasons people book a consultation with us. They can come from fat distribution, the shape of the underlying muscle and bone, or a combination of all three. If this is a concern for you, please book a consultation with our team.

What is lower-face fullness?

It describes areas of the lower face and jaw that appear fuller or wider than a person would like. This can include the cheeks, the area under the chin, or a wide or square jawline.

What causes it?

Genetics play the largest role in where the face stores fat and how the jaw is shaped. Prominent jaw muscles, weight changes, age-related changes to facial fat, fluid retention and lifestyle factors can all contribute, and the cause differs from person to person.

Reasons people seek consultations

Fullness in the lower face does not always respond to diet or exercise, which is often what prompts people to ask for advice. Working out whether the cause is muscle, fat or structure is an important first step. Common reasons include:

  • A jawline that appears wide or square
  • Fullness that does not change with general weight loss or fitness work at the gym
  • Fullness under the chin or in the lower cheeks
  • Wanting to understand whether the cause is muscle, fat or structure
  • Wanting honest advice about suitability and realistic expectations

How should you manage lower-face fullness?

Because the cause can be muscle, fat, bone structure or a mix of these, every person's situation is different. The best first step is to book a consultation. Our consultations run for 45 minutes and are never rushed, so we can work out what is contributing in your case. During your consultation we can explain the different treatments that may be able to address your concern. Our team is made up of health professionals who will give you honest advice on suitability.

Four steps, start to finish.

You do not need to choose a treatment before you book. If you are unsure, choose “Book a consultation”.

  1. Book a consultation

There is no consultation fee. New client consultations run 45 minutes, so nothing is rushed and we can properly understand your goals.

  2. Pre-treatment care

If anything needs preparing beforehand, we send you clear instructions ahead of your appointment.

  3. Your treatment

Carried out by a member of our clinical team using TGA approved products, in a private clinical setting. It is often possible to proceed on the same day as your consultation, though some options need a separate booking — DM us to find out more.

  4. Post-treatment care

You leave with aftercare instructions, and our clinic is available for any questions that follow.
