Chin Volume

The size and projection of the chin, and how it balances with the nose and jawline, are common reasons people book a consultation with us. The chin plays a large part in the overall proportions of the face. If this is a concern for you, please book a consultation with our team.

What is chin volume?

Chin volume refers to how much the chin projects and how it sits in proportion to the lips, nose and jawline when the face is viewed from the front and in profile.

What causes it?

Chin shape is largely determined by genetics and underlying bone structure. With age, changes in bone and soft tissue can alter the chin and lower face, and weight changes or dental alignment can also affect how the chin appears.

Reasons people seek consultations

Many people first notice their chin in photos taken from the side, or when comparing their profile to the rest of their face. A consultation gives you the chance to talk through what you are seeing and what is realistic. Common reasons include:

  • A chin that appears small or recessed in profile
  • Wanting better balance between the chin, nose and jawline
  • Changes to the lower face with age
  • Wanting to understand what is realistic for their face shape
  • Wanting a professional opinion before making any decision

How should you manage chin volume concerns?

Chin shape and facial proportions are different for everyone, so the right approach depends on your face. We recommend booking a consultation. Our consultations run for 45 minutes and are never rushed, giving you time to talk through your profile and your goals. During your consultation we can explain the different treatments that may be able to address your concern. Our team is made up of health professionals.

Four steps, start to finish.

You do not need to choose a treatment before you book. If you are unsure, choose “Book a consultation”.

  1. Book a consultation

There is no consultation fee. New client consultations run 45 minutes, so nothing is rushed and we can properly understand your goals.

  2. Pre-treatment care

If anything needs preparing beforehand, we send you clear instructions ahead of your appointment.

  3. Your treatment

Carried out by a member of our clinical team using TGA approved products, in a private clinical setting. It is often possible to proceed on the same day as your consultation, though some options need a separate booking — DM us to find out more.

  4. Post-treatment care

You leave with aftercare instructions, and our clinic is available for any questions that follow.
